The proper management of privacy-sensitive data is something I feel strongly about. I carefully process and secure any personal data provided to me.
Of course, I always adhere to any relevant privacy legislation and regulations. In this privacy policy, I explain the personal data I process
and the reasons why I do it.
The reason for collecting and processing personal data
Personal data may be provided to me in order to provide an offer for the translation services requested by you. You may also give me your
personal information and that of third parties in order for me to perform the requested services.
Your personal data will only be used for the purposes to which you have consented. These purposes may include:
- Performing services
- Sending e-mail information
- Informing you of new services
If you do not want to use these services or only want to use some of them, you can withdraw your consent. You can withdraw your consent
by sending an e-mail with the subject “Withdrawal of consent” to the e-mail address info@skippertranslations.nl.
The security of your personal data
In order to protect your personal data, specific privacy requirements apply to fellow linguists who I work with from time to time.
They must sign a non-disclosure agreement before commencing the work.
The security of your personal data is further ensured by applying the “need-to-know” principle when performing a service, and only providing
access to your personal data to those linguists who are actually working on your request.
Those persons are also obliged to report any loss of personal data as soon as possible.
Your personal data is secured both in writing and digitally in accordance with legal requirements. Your personal data will not be kept longer
than necessary either, unless there is a legal obligation to retain it for a longer period of time.
Your rights under the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)
You can invoke your rights as a data subject under the GDPR by sending an e-mail to info@skippertranslations.nl. You have the following
rights under the GDPR:
- the right to access your personal data
- the right to delete your personal data
- the right to correct or limit the use of the data collected and processed
- the right to data portability
I will process your requests within the statutory period and make use of the statutory options to grant or refuse your request(s).
In the event of a rejection, I will provide my reasons for doing so. Depending on the time and effort your request takes me, I may
charge you a small fee to cover the administrative costs.
Loss of your personal data
Skipper Translations has taken measures to limit any potential loss of personal data, known as a data leak, to an absolute minimum.
If, in spite of the measures taken, a data breach should occur in which your personal data is lost and serious damage to your privacy
can be expected, I will inform you of this immediately.
